KICKSTART FC BOUNCED BACK from their loss to KRYPHSA with a 1-0 win over Baroda Football Academy in Indian Women's League 2020 final round at Bangalore Football Stadium today.
The Group A fixture saw both teams start cautiously before the physically stronger Kickstart FC took over the midfield and launched an unrelenting barrage of attacks on the Baroda FA defence.
Baroda kept the scoreline level for most of the game, putting bodies behind the ball. Kickstart got multiple chances but failed to convert due to errenous passes and shots.
But their long wait for a break-through finally ended in the 69th minute, when Mona finally found the net. That one goal was enough to seal the victory for Kickstart FC.

Although the performance put up by Kickstart FC was far from its potential best, they will be happy to finally get three points to their name after the loss they suffered on the open day. As the league progresses and the players start working better as a unit, one can hope they will be more resourceful when it comes to converting chances; especially when they face other teams who are also gunning for the top of the points table. They will face a sterner test when they face FC Kohlapur City - who played out a draw with BBK Dav FC earlier today - in their next match on 30th January.
Meanwhile, Baroda Football Academy will have to go back to the drawing board and fix their defence because their next outing - on 31st January - is against KRYPHSA who beat Kickstart FC by a massive 4-0 margin in their first match.
