TRAU FC ARE FAST BECOMING a force to reckon with in the I-League 2019-20.
Today, they picked up their fourth straight victory, besting Aizawl FC 2-1 in a hard fought match at the Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The four match win streak by Tiddinm Road Athletic Union Football Club is the best recent record in the league; better even than league leaders Mohun Bagan who have won their last two on a trot.
Facing Aizawl FC at home today, TRAU trailed earlier in the match when Rocharzela put the visitors ahead around 22 minutes in. But it wasn't long before Emeka set up the youngster Laishram Singh, one of the brightest emerging prospects in Indian football this season, to score his first ever goal in national level senior football.
Buoyed by the fightback in the first half, the home side went for victory after the break. After the one hour mark, they took the lead when Khungdonbam Krishnananda Singh found the net, assisted by Uche.
They managed to hold onto the lead for the rest of the game, ensuring yet another victory to add to their victorious run that began with beating local rivals NEROCA in the first Imphal Derby of I-League.

At present, TRAU have accumulated 14 points from 9 matches; equal to second-placed Punjab FC, trailing only by goal difference. The consistency they have displayed, especially their upset win over Churchill Brothers away from home, has already made them one of the signficant participants in the I-League title race.
The team will travel to Kerala next to face Gokulam Kerala FC, yet another match with title race ramifications. When they come back, they will take on local rivals NEROCA again in the return leg Derby.
