ISL 2019-20 HIGHLIGHTS - Mumbai City, Kerala Blasters play out disappointing draw

LATE SECOND HALF SPARKS saw both Mumbai City & Kerala Blasters get one goal apiece at the Mumbai Football Arena in a 7th round clash at ISL 2019-20.

Both MCFC and KBFC started the game with a mission to get close to the top four. But both defenses held up through the first half and at the break, the scoreline was goalless.

It wasn't until the 75th minute that the deadlock was broken by the visitors. Jessel Carneiro found Raphael Bouli who buried it at the back of the net, and for a moment it looked like Kerala Blasters were finally going to get their first win since they beat ATK in the first round.

But just a couple of minutes later, Amine Chermiti struck right back for Mumbai City FC and made the game even. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

This result will please neither team, as another draw on their record means they are still a few points off the pack of top four. For Mumbai City FC this is a particularly disappointing result, since their only win of the season so far came back in October when they played Kerala Blasters in Kochi. As of now, they are 6th on the table with 7 points from 7 matches; not the best spot to be before the toughest game of the season - a trip to Bengaluru's Kanteerava Stadium.

For Kerala Blasters, the lost opportunity to seal the win means they're 8th on the points table with just 6 points from 7 matches. They're on a 6 match winless streak and ahead of being visited by the high-flying Jamshedpur FC.
