ISL 2019-20 HIGHLIGHTS - NorthEast United grab a point from Jamshedpur with late equalizer

NORTHEAST UNITED MAINTAINED THEIR unbeaten streak in Indian Super League 2019-20 when they held Jamshedpur FC to a draw away from home thanks to a late equalizer.

The game was a "match" in the truest sense with both teams turning out to be equals in almost every aspect of the game.

Neither team wanted to take a risk and the game maintained an equal pace until the game of patience bore fruit for the home team just before the half hour mark; Sergio Castel found the net for Jamshedpur FC.

The Red Miners went into the break 1-0 ahead, and they wanted to maintain that lead for the rest of the game. But NorthEast United kept their shape and waited for their moment to arrive; which came at the last minute of regulation time. Gyan found Triadis who broke through to the net, securing the 1-1 draw.

This draw was the 6th straight in ISL 2019-20; the longest streak of draws in ISL ever. Both Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United had reason to prioritise avoiding a loss to maintain their place in the top four of the season. After 6th round, Jamshedour are second on the table, with 11 points, behind ATK by goal difference.

NorthEast United are on 10 points, so despite dropping 6 points in their last 4 matches, they remain an unbeaten major contender just 1 win away from claiming the top position; and they have the chance to do just that when they host ATK on 7th December.

Jamshedpur FC will also look to get back to winning ways when they welcome a struggling Chennaiyin FC on 9th December.
