Mohun Bagan defender Daniel Cyrus gets Trinidad and Tobago call-up

MOHUN BAGAN DEFENDER Daniel Cyrus has been called up to the Trinidad and Tobago national team for their upcoming match in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Cyrus, who debuted for Mohun Bagan in the Calcutta Football League, played a major role in helping the club reach the semi-finals of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup last week.

All this while the 28 year old has been switching between club and national duty. He has been playing for Trinidad and Tobago national team since 2010 and has earned 83 national caps so far.

He is a regular starter who most recently featured in Trinidad and Tobago's match against Honduras in the CONCACAF Nationas League on 11th October 2019.

The Trinidad & Tobago Football Association has reached out to Mohun Bagan to request his release for the upcoming match. You can see the full letter here...

The letter from TTFA to Mohun Bagan

As indicated in the letter, Cyrus will have to leave on 11th November to join the national team and he will be on his way back to Kolkata on 18th November.

With the I-League not beginning until 30th November and no major tournament to play in between, his departure is unexpected to affect the Mariners' preparations for their league campaign in a major way.
