Durand Cup 2019 HIGHLIGHTS -- Mohun Bagan 2-0 Mohammedan Sporting
THE DURAND CUP'S LATEST EDITION kicked off in Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium with much fanfare, complete with marching army bands, attended by politicians and other VIPs.
The opening match lived up to the hype, too, with Mohun Bagan displaying a new brand of football for the club, featuring their Spanish coach and 4 players from Spain. But Mohammedan Sporting, who have started their season early getting ready for Durand Cup and Calcutta Football League, fought back hard in the second half, giving the Mariners a run for their money.
The result, however, went squarely in Mohun Bagan's way, who held on to the lead given to them by Salva Chamorro's brace in the first half, to bag the win 2-0.
