Atletico de Madrid announce tie-up with Tata Football Academy

ATLETICO DE MADRID ARE back in India and they are tying up with one of the most prominent football academies in India.

The Spanish giants orignally had a tie-up with ISL franchise ATK, but they pulled out of the partnership after a couple of years.

Now they are back, with a renewed venture, partnering with the Tata Group.

The Tata Football Academy has been one of the most famous academies in the countries for the last couple of decades, playing instrumental role in the development of dozens of players who went on to play for various clubs in I-League and ISL, even the national team.

In terms of producing national team-capped players in the last twenty years, Tata Football Academy ranks highest in the country.

The Tata Group has also developed a vast scouting network across the country, participated in developing football in various states, and even partnered with the Eastern Students Union team which went on to win the inaugural edition of the Indian Womens' League.

In 2017, the Tata Group established Jamshedpur FC, a new ISL franchise which has seen high popularity among the local fans.

Atletico de Madrid, after paying a visit to Jamshedpur to check out the facilities available for Tata Football Academy and Jamshedpur FC, decided to sign a partnership with the Tata Trusts to work together in developing young talent.

Multiple La Liga clubs have showed interest in increasing their popularity in India, and Atletico de Madrid have been one of the frontrunners in such efforts. It remains to be seen whether their active presence in the Indian football scene will win them the loyalty of the Jamshedpur FC faithful or other fans across the country.
