CFL 2018 FULL MATCH: Brace by Emeka helps Mohammedan Sporting return to winning ways

AFTER SOME HICCUPS in their Calcutta Football League campaign, Mohammedan Sporting finally got a win against bottom table West Bengal Police.

Emeka scored twice in the first half to give the Black Panthers a handsome lead, including once from the penalty spot. In the second half, West Bengal Police started brigntly, and eventually got a goal back through Shaikh Shamim. But it wasn't enough, and in the end,  a 2-1 win was there for Mohammedan Sporting to take.

While Mohammedan Sporting have pretty much fallen away from the CFL title race, they are yet to play their two most important matches of their campaign - against heavyweight title contenders East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. With the two big clubs, who played out a draw amongst themselves on Sunday, they are now tied in terms of points and goal difference. So whether they beat Mohammedan Sporting, and by how many goals, will go a long way to decide who wins the league.

A win for the Black Panthers ahead of those two crucial, highly andticipated Kolkata Derby fixtures makes the CFL title race even more spicy than it was before.
