AWES Cup is set for its second year after Dempo won the inaugural edition
BEGAN in 2017, the Association for the Wellbeing of Elder Sportspersons (AWES) Cup is set to begin for the second year running. The tournament had 12 teams in the inaugural edition which was eventually won by Dempo beating Gokulam Kerala in the final via penalties. The event took place in Duler Stadium in Mapusa, Goa
The AWES organised the tournament, with the backing of Goa Football Association, in a bid to raise funds to look after the former footballers. Below were the teams that participated in the 2017 AWES Cup which ran from September 1 to 17.
