CFL 2018 -- WATCH FULL MATCH - East Bengal held to a draw by Customs, supporters erupt

ANOTHER MAJOR UPSET has occurred in the Calcutta Football League, the second big club failing to beat a patent underdog less than two weeks into the league.

East Bengal took on Calcutta Customs at the sold out East Bengal stadium, and the game ended in a goalless draw.

Customs played a tight game of containment that the Red and Golds failed to dismantle. The draw comes as a major shock to the club's title aspirations, as in CFL dropping points against smaller teams can potentially put a club out of the title race until their fellow title contenders also make the same mistake. The CFL title race is usually extremely close; last season East Bengal were tied in points as well as goal difference with Mohun Bagan and they won the title because they scored more goals.

EB technical director Subhash Bhowmick came under harsh criticism from the fans who shouted abuse at him and the players. Police were at hand to keep the situation under control.
