Sunrisers Hyderabad appoint Kane Williamson as captain for the forthcoming IPL season
NEW ZEALAND skipper Kane Williamson has been appointed as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 11th season of the IPL.
This announcement comes after former skipper David Warner's was banned from the cash-rich league following the infamous ball-tampering episode.
Explaining the move, SRH, CEO K. Shanmugam tweeted,
"We are happy to announce Kane Williamson as the captain of SunRisers Hyderabad for IPL 2018."
While Williamson's experience of leading the national side in all three formats will be a big plus for the 2016 champions, they will still miss the services of Warner in months to come.
However, a replacement for the Aussie is yet to be named.
