#SaveKochiTurf Update: Cricket match moved from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram
AFTER the online campaign of raising voices against having to host a cricket match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi gathered support, news just came in about the authorities giving in to the pressure.
A campaign that was started by Kerala Blasters FC fan group, spread quickly across various other club, teams, players and other well-known personalities lending support to the cause.
In the build up to the campaign, a candle light protest was called for on Saturday, March 24 in Palayam by Minister of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor.
Inviting all cricket fans of Thiruvananthapuram to assemble at 6.30 pm on March 24th, Saturday, at Martyrs Column, Palayam for a candlelight protest against KCA shifting the WestIndies ODI to Kochi. I'll be there! #KeepCricketInTvm #SaveKochiTurf

In addition to that, Manjappada announced and invited supporters to join in to form a Human wall around the JLN stadium in Kochi on March 25

Just as these two pleas started to gain popularity, news broke out saying the decision to host the ODI match between India and West Indies on November 1 at Kochi had been reversed and the cricket match would be held at Greenfield stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
