READ: Ravichandran Ashwin gets easily provoked to Herschelle Gibbs’ jibe on clumsy running

INDIA OFFIE Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his witty replies and smart comments during the pressers as well as on Twitter. He has also been popular for dealing matters with sarcasm. 

However, his recent conversation with South Africa great Herschelle Gibbs on Twitter was as needless as it was insensitive. While taking a light-hearted dig at Ashwin’s running abilities, Gibbs commented on Ashwin’s post, where the latter was seen promoting a shoe brand.

“Hopefully you will be able to run a bit faster now Ashwin.”

Ashwin, who is known to give it back as he gets, was slightly more caustic in his reply. He tweeted,

“Surely not as fast you did mate, unfortunately I wasn’t as blessed as you were. But I was blessed with a wonderfully ethical mind not to fix games which put food on my plate.”

Gibbs then decided to nip the matter in the bud bringing up Ashwin’s apparent lack of humor. 

“Can’t take a joke I see anyway moving swiftly on.” 

Further, the Tamil Nadu-lad tried to diffuse the matter by connoting a dinner invite. 

“I totally believed my reply was a joke too, but look how people and yourself perceived it. I am totally game for this sort of fun mate, we shall dine over this sometime.”
