#TFGinterview: Arjan Bhullar talks his next fight, Daniel Cormier’s move to Heavyweight and more

ARJAN SINGH BHULLAR IS SET FOR HIS second fight in the UFC as the former Commonwealth Games medallist will be facing Adam Wieczorek at UFC on Fox 29 on April 14, 2018.

Currently holding a perfect record of 7-0 to his name, Arjan had impressed in his first UFC outing when he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Luis Henrique UFC 215.

A second win would act as a boost for Arjan’s title aspirations in the UFC Heavyweight division and ahead of this crucial encounter, TFG managed to catch up with him for an exclusive. He talked about a string of topics in the interview and you can read his responses below:

About his opponent and game plan

My coaches scout my opponents, not me.  I take a look once when the fight is booked, and from then on I focus on myself.  It doesn’t matter who the opponent is, as long as I do what I need to be on point. I will pressure, I will wrestle, and I will strike.  I never force something that’s not there, but I’m always looking to finish.  He will not survive 15mintues in the cage with me.

On wearing a Turban on his way to the Octagon:

It will be very special.  Indians from around the world, and Sikhs celebrating Vaisakhi, will have two reasons to cheer on April 14th.  It will be a glorious victory for me and my people.

Daniel Cormier’s move to Heavyweight and the possibility of fighting him:

It will be a terrific fight for him [against Miocic].  His style and skillset will make this fight very competitive, and I will give the edge to my guy.  I’m excited for him to continue to prove why he is already the Greatest Light Heavyweight of all time. My gut tells me that with the career DC has had, he won’t be staying in the heavyweight division for very long, let alone the UFC. He’s had a great journey, and I’m honored to be his teammate. I’m looking forward to the journey ahead of me now.

Whether or not Jinder Mahal will accompany him to his next fight:

Jinder and I haven’t talked about it yet, but regardless if his schedule allows him to make it or not, I know he will be a supporter of mine no matter where he is watching from.

On UFC and India:

We need to have a UFC event in India as soon as possible.  That’s when high-level athletes from the successful areas of Wrestling and Boxing in India will see that MMA is a viable career option for them.  That is what will make this a sustainable future in India.
