MILESTONE: Dhoni becomes India’s first wicketkeeper to effect 400 dismissals in ODIs

INDIA VETERAN MS Dhoni became the nation’s first wicketkeeper to amass 400 dismissals in ODI cricket. The Ranchi-lad reached the milestone when he stumped out South Africa stand-in skipper Aiden Markram off Kuldeep Yadav.

The explosive batsman took 315 matches to get to the mark and is behind Kumar Sangakkara, Adam Gilchrist and Mark Boucher, at the number four spot in the international list. The former Sri Lankan counterpart is known to have effected 482 dismissals from 404 matches. On the other hand, Gilchrist and Boucher are known to have been involved in 472 and 424 dismissals respectively.

Earlier, in the day, team India had struck a target of 304 courtesy of skipper Virat Kohli’s massive 160-run innings. Subsequently, wrist spinners wreaked havoc once again to grant the visitors a comfortable 124-run win.
