Is Zidane Digging his own Grave?

FOR THE SIXTH TIME this season, Real Madrid threw away a lead, as they played out a 2-2 draw away at Levante.

Real Madrid defeated Deportivo 7-1 at the Bernabeu and immediately lost to Leganes on away goals in the Copa Del Rey resulting in their exit from the competition.

Then they secured a hard-fought 4-1 win over Valencia at the Estadio de Mestalla and for a moment it seemed Real Madrid had been "Resurrected", but down they went again as they played away against Levante and drew with the 17th placed team in La Liga.

Had it been any other team, It would've been considered just another draw, but for a team of Real Madrid's caliber, these draws are a cause of concern for both the team and fans alike.

It is really surprising to see that Zinedine Zidane has turned his eyes away from the current crisis at the Spanish Capital. He seems to be ignorant On and Off the Pitch. Let's have a look at 2 things where Zizou has gone wrong this Season.

Zinedine Zidane was upset because his side dropped 2 pts against Levante

 Zidane's Tactical "Master-Disasters" :

If playing Mateo Kovacic in the El Clasico was not enough of a disaster, Zidane has surprisingly under-utilized Gareth Bale since his return from Injury.

As Real Madrid was losing momentum during the Clash against Levante, Zidane removed Gareth Bale, much to the shock of Commentators and Football Pundits alike, Zidane had removed one of the most energetic performers of the night and had instead let Toni Kroos remain on the pitch, someone who has not been in his best forms this season.

Even during the Second Leg clash against Leganes, Zidane played his "B Team" even though he knew that an away goal would change the course of the match.

Zidane's disastrous decisions during the game are to be blamed for Los Blanco's slump this season, and it is bringing them closer to qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, something that would be difficult to fathom for any football fan.

Transfer Market Shocker - Does Zidane "Over-Trust" his Players?

The main motive behind introducing the Winter Transfer Window was to give teams a chance to correct any transfer blunder they might have made in the Summer Transfer Window. This lets managers to try getting their teams  back on track and to strengthen their respective squads, giving themselves a better chance of winning trophies.

Real Madrid was the only team in La Liga to be inactive in the Winter Transfer Window. This is despite the terrible form of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. But again Zidane remained adamant and his adamance came out on top as he decided to leave the squad as it was, hoping that Benzema would somehow find his lost touch and Ronaldo will somehow be able to reverse his signs of aging.

Real Madrid has not been able to convert the bulk of their chances this season, Zidane has blamed "Bad Luck" to be the reason behind it. But for a Club that has been at the pinnacle of European Football, this is a very poor excuse. He didn't call it luck when Real Madrid went on to become the first team to win back to back Champions League titles last season.

He has watched from the sidelines as Karim Benzema and Ronaldo repeatedly miss easy chances and he continues to believe it's their bad luck. They have lost games they shouldn't have lost and they have drawn games that they could've easily won. He continues to stick to his players instead of buying a striker to score more goals.

Real Madrid's attempt to win the league is a lost cause and their only hope of silverware this season is the UEFA Champions League. They face an in-form PSG in little more than a weeks' time.

But in this form, one would either have to be a Real Madrid fan or a brave optimist to predict any other result aside from a Real Madrid elimination. This exit would mean only one thing for Zidane, the fate countless Real Madrid managers have faced in the past, THE SACK.
