A press release from the BBFS said,

"We will be reaching out to more places across the country during phase 2 of the trials. The purpose of the trials is to scout the best talent who would get a chance to join the upcoming residential academy. A team of coaches from BBFS will conduct the trials for interested students aged between 11 and 15 years (who are currently studying in class 5 to class 8 and are seeking admissions in class 6 to class 9).

Through this setup, BBFS intends to create an environment which would help the academy students get the right tools and education to perform at the highest level of footballing competition in India - a platform towards achieving their goal of becoming a professional footballer player with the premier football clubs of India (ISL and ILeague) and abroad. The residential academy will also ensure these academy players receive quality education and academics training to ensure they can appear for higher studies post graduating from the academy.

Some of the primary facilities on offer in the first year are 2 full size natural turfs, in-house CBSE schooling for students, additional private tutoring, separate accommodation for academy students, fully equipped gym, mess, recreation zone, etc.
