The two-time champions are set to get into the upcoming season with the lightest squad comprising just 19 players. Ahead of the auctions, KKR announced that the retention of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, thereby letting go off its most successful skipper Gautam Gambhir. The Kolkata side invested in U-19 stars  Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi and Shubman Gill. They also used the RTM cards to retain Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav to maintain spin bowling as their main weapon.
