BENGALURU FC's goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu was the first Indian player to make an appearance in the Europa league. This season, in a surprise move, he announced signing for Bengaluru FC as they made their switch from I-League to the Indian Super League. Although playing for Stabaek in the Norway, Gurpreet did not get too much game time and that seemed to be one of the reasons for him to make a move back to India. But the decision seems to have paid off at least in one big aspect, financially. The big man says he earns more in the Indian Super League than what he did while playing in Europe.
"People had that perception that I was earning more playing for the Norway club. But it wasnât the case. I am earning more playing in Indian Super League," he told PTI.
He is more than happy to get paid much more that and joked saying,
"Whether itâs me or any other footballer, we would love to get paid as top cricketers who get Rs 16 - Rs 17 crore playing IPL,"Â
Gurpreet, however, said he would go back to European clubs if they meets his terms and conditions.
