Indian MMA: Bodypower India Open MMA Championships to roll out its biggest event till date

THE INDIA OPEN MMA CHAMPIONSHIP is set to roll out its fourth event in collaboration with Bodypower EXPO 2018. Considered to be one of India’s biggest fitness expo, the Bodypower Expo has been drawing huge footfall in the past years and this time is expected to be no different.

The 2018 edition of the India Open MMA championship is scheduled to take place from January 12 to January 14 in Mumbai and is sanctioned by All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMA).

More than hundred amateur fighters from around India are reportedly set to participate in the event which will also serve as a platform for the selections of the IMMAF Oceania Open Championships. The IMMAF championships will be held in collaboration with the prestigious Arnold Classic in Melbourne from 16 to 18 March.

Meanwhile, AIMMA officials noted that they will be looking to carry forward the good run from the recently concluded IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain.

The Indian team had a great outing at the event in Bahrain and picked up some historical wins in the process.

The officials also noted that the upcoming India Open MMA championship is expected to see its biggest participation till date. Amateur MMA, Sport MMA, Submission Wrestling and Martial Arts demonstrations are currently being planned for the event.
