ISL 2017-18: KBFC are tough but hoping it to be a good match, says Dynamos coach; James assures all are available for fitness test

DELHI DYNAMOS will play Kerala Blasters tonight at home as ISL resumes after the weekend. Both the teams ended their previous encounters on a 2-2 and 1-1 draw respectively. But nonetheless they also showed some sign of improvement as both are struggling with goal scoring and less points as they are placed at the bottom of the table.

Delhi coach Miguel Portugal talking about the opponents, he said,

"Kerala are very strong in defence. They are a good compact team. It is difficult to win against them, but I think this is a good match for us."

He also added that he was pleased with his team's performance in their previous outing.

"I only won one point in the last match. But the most important thing is the team played well. We had opportunities for the win, but the point was good for my team and their confidence."

"After losing the last six matches, I am happy for my players. It’s not for the one point. It’s for them playing well. I want my team playing good football. In this way, we try and win. We had a good match against Mumbai City FC. But Mumbai scored four goals in five opportunities. We had nine opportunities but no goal. But I did not tell my team anything because they were playing well."

While newly appointed Kerala Blasters coach David James will be put to his first away match and talking about his plans for the team, he said,

"I have to understand the strengths and weaknesses, also develop that chemistry. The players are confident, which is good for me to start off with."

He further added,

"I think as a fan of Kerala Blasters; I think of ‘quality’ as a fan. It’s important to understand the quality of the team."

He concluded,

"Everyone is available for a fitness test."
