The Mumbai franchise had already made it clear that they are, in all likelihood, going to retain Rohit Sharma along with Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. It also appears to be a strategic decision as it will allow them to buy back Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya with the 'Right To Match' cards.

While Rohit was retained for a league fee of INR 15 crore, Hardik and Jasprit were retained for INR 11 and 7 crore respectively. The franchise is left with a salary cap of INR 47 crore.
