IPL 2018: Kolkata Knight Riders release Shakib; Mustafizur gets NOC from Bangladesh Cricket Board

BANGLADESH ALL-ROUNDER Shakib Al Hasan has been released by Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL 2018. The 30-year-old will part ways with the franchise after seven years of association. 

Shakib will be available in the players' auction scheduled to take place on January 28 and 29. Meanwhile, teammate and paceman Mustafizur Rahman is set to get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the upcoming edition. It is learnt that the board has sent the list of eight players, who have shown interest in the auction of the cash-rich tournament, to the BCCI.

Mustafizur, who was a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad during IPL 10, was denied NOC for the Pakistan Super League in February, last year, as he was recovering from injury.

The other six Bangladesh players to get nod are Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Liton Das, Sabbir Rahman and Abul Hasan. The season 11 is set to get underway on April 4.
