ISL 2017-18: FC Goa suffer flight troubles - match with ATK delayed

THE FC GOA TEAM had a terrible start to the new year when their chartered flight went through a scare.

The franchise chartered a flight to reach Kolkata for their match against ATK which is supposed to take place tonight. But the plane had a malfunction and had to make an emergency landing. No one on board was hurt.

But the delay has disrupted the team's travel schedule and they are travelling to Kolkata on the matchday itself. If all goes according to plan they will reach their destination mere hours before the match.

From the looks of it, it seems the club management is willing to play the match as scheduled but it remains to be seen if the fatigue of travel on matchday affects the players' performance on the pitch.

UPDATE: Today the Gaurs' troubles multiplied when a Mig 29K plane ran off course and jammed the runway at Goa airport, further delaying the FC Goa team's departure to Kolkata. As of now, tonight's match between ATK and FC Goa is still on, although it has been delayed to an 8:30 pm kick off.
