PBL 2017: MATCH REPORT -- Chennai Smashers claim their first win beating Mumbai Rockets 4-3

IN A REPEAT of last season's PBL finals, Chennai Smashers played a close battle against Mumbai Rockets on Wednesday and once again took the result in their favour to claim their first win this season.

A 4-3 win for the Smashers who crucial matches that helped them win the tie. The opening match between the men's doubles went in favour of Mumbai as Lee Yong Dae/Tan Boon Heong won 15-9, 15-6 beating Sumeeth Reddy/Lee Yang.

Men's singles shuttler Brice Leverdez levelled it as he defeated Sameer Verma 15-14, 10-15, 15-14. And then PV Sindhu doubled the lead with her win over Beiwen Zhang 12-15, 15-7, 15-9.

Then came the trump match for Mumbai that saw them take the two points with a win from Son Wan Ho who defeated Tanongsak 15-11, 15-5 to give his team a 3-2 lead.

And it went down to the wire and the final match, the mixed doubles would decide the winner of the tie. The Adcock couple didn't disappoint and once again helped their team get their first win after losing to Awadhe Warriors in the opening tie.

They defeated Gabriela Stoeva/Arjun MR 15-9, 13-15, 15-9. It was a great start to the second leg of PBL that's being held in Delhi.
