MATCH REPORT: Robbie Keane's maiden ISL goal gives ATK their home win

DELHI HAD NO shortage of troubles before coming into the game. They had their coach and player suspended after the last game’s red card. ATK had just got their first win of the season in the last game and were looking for another one. Delhi Dynamos were hopeful of bouncing back from a bad run of form.

Jayesh Rane making his first appearance of the season had a chance to score from a cross coming in from the left. He was yards from goal but could not direct his header on target from a Robbie Leane cross.

A talking point in the first half when the ball appeared to have struck Pratik’s arm in Delhi’s box but the referee did not think it was handball and played the game on. The first half was mostly played at a slow pace. Zequinha had the best chance of the first 45 minutes when he was released into space in the attacking half. A strong run by Zequinha as saw him run about 30-35 yards to reach the box to curl into the far corner with his right but just missed.

The second half was devoid of too many clear chances. The pace too was slow. Brilliant work by Bipin to set up up Keane in the box. Keane turned, moved away, created the space and shot on the turn in the box for the first goal for ATK. Both teams made changes to find another goal in the game but Keane’s strike was to be the deciding goal and ATK registered their first home win of the season.
