Boithang Haokip

This tall, agile Manipuri midfielder has steadily built up a career for himself at Shillong Lajong, a club he shares a close bond with. After joining the club back in 2008, Boithang quickly worked his way up the youth system ladder and got himself an I-League debut in the 2009-10 season. That same season Lajong suffered a relegation, and Boithang stayed with the club, playing an instrumental part in next season's 2nd Division League campaign which saw Lajong win it and return to the I-League. He has been playing for Lajong in the top flight ever since, and has made 62 league appearances for them till date. As a Lajong player he was part of the bunch who were loaned out to NorthEast United during the inaugural edition of ISL. He made 7 appearances for NEUFC. He followed that up with a class act in the I-League 2014-15 season for Lajong. Now, a more matured and experienced player at 24, he will be hopeful of coming back and playing a more prominent role in NEUFC's upcoming ISL campaign.
