I-League 2017-18: Mohun Bagan sign former Bengaluru FC midfielder Cameron Watson

AMIDST CONCERNS AND INJURIES THAT have crippled their midfield, Mohun Bagan have pulled off a remarkable transfer that might save it.

The Mariners lost their best midfielder, Yuta Kinowaki, to an injury when he broke his collar bone in the match against Churchill Brothers. The Japanese medio who put on an impressive show during the season's first Kolkata Derby will take another 3 weeks to become fit.

Meanwhile, Diogo Ferreira, a young Australian defensive midfielder, had been facing trouble getting acquainted with the team. A few days ago, the club released him with mutual consent. And today, they announced the signing of Cameron Alexander John Watson, who can play as a defensive midfielder as well as a defender.

An Australian U-20 international, Watson hasplayed in multiple A-League clubs including Melbourne Knights and Adelaide United. His notable spells include a stint with Bengaluru FC where he played a prominent role in the club's campaign to reach the AFC Cup final.

Watson is expected to arrive at the club in the next couple of days and he is expected to debut for the Green and Maroons in the match against Indian Arrows on 29th December.
