Dubai Super Series Finals: Kidambi Srikanth ends his campaign after second consecutive loss

KIDAMBI SRIKANTH ends his campaign at the Dubai Super Series Finals after losing his second consecutive match in the tournament. He lost to Chou Tien Chen in straight games 18-21, 18-21.

Both the shuttlers were looking for their first win of the tournament and they looked eager and determined.

It was a great start from Chou who looked in a hurry to get those opening points. It left Srikanth lurking for points as he looked a little out of place.

Chou led at the interval and Srikanth had to come back strong. Cheers from kids among the crowd only kept increasing for the Indian but it was Chou who was spoiling the party.

There were some silly errors from the Indian that saw Chou take away the points to his favour. But there was a different approach from Srikanth post the interval as he finally looked like he was getting his shots right.

Srikanth saved 6 game points delaying the first game win for Chou. It also saw a great long rally that saw the Indian winning the point.

But his comeback performance was too late as Chou finally clinched the one point to claim it 21-18.

The second game saw a good start from the Indian, but it wasn't an easy one as Chou kept hitting back forcing Srikanth to commit mistakes. Srikanth was leading at the interval but Chou saw to it that he kept the difference between the points minimal.

Towards the end of the second game, it was going down to the wire as after trying his best Chou levels the points at 17-17 and then took a lead but the Indian got back to level it once again.

Once again Chou took lead at 19-18 and then a shot from Srikanth was challenged by the former who had luck on his side and won the point. With just a point away, Chou took the following point too to clinch the match.

This unfortunately brought an end the second seed Srikanth's campaign at the Dubai SSF. All eyes will now be on PV Sindhu as she will be in action later tonight.
