IT'S ALL CLEAR NOW. The confusion surrounding the IPL player retention which made headlines for the past few weeks is now settled. After the IPL Governing Council met yesterday, it has been reported that teams will be allowed to retain a maximum of 5 players going into the players' auction in 2018.

We have also learnt that a maximum of 3 Indian capped players can be retained along with 2 overseas professionals. As we know, the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will be returning to the league and they too will be given the option of buying back their players who represented them in 2015, before being banned.

With the confusion out of the way, all the eight franchises will be down to business and are going to rack their brains in order to retain the best players going ahead.

While MI, KKR, SRH and RCB appear a settled unit, it will be interesting to see who they retain. But, perhaps the big question will be on how CSK & RR approach this.

We at TFG based on analysis, past records and numbers have compiled a list of players who should be retained by their respective franchises ahead of the player's auction in 2018.

Take a look...
