ISL 2017: PREVIEW: Delhi Dynamos vs Jamshedpur FC - Finding the best firing players

SITTING ON THREE POINTS each from three games, Delhi Dynamos FC and Jamshedpur FC face mounting pressure get to winning ways.

Dynamos at least have got off to a winning start but have lost the following two game. Although Jamshedpur have not lost a single game yet must be surely concerned because they have been able to score a single goal yet.

Delhi’s Indian contingent are a strong bunch but seemed to have faded away after the first win. Pritam Kotal, one the most expensive Indians in the team had a night to forget in the last game. His ability to overlap and deliver good balls in the box is yet to reach its full potential this season. Kalu Uche upfront has not been the danger man the Dynamos thought he would be.

Coppell has tried and tested various combination but it just doesn’t seem to be working for the Englishman. Belfort has been off misfiring at his best, plain misdirected shots from him has led to team’s frustration. The South African Doutie has not shown the same quality he displayed last season at ATK.

Delhi Dynamos saw some brilliant performances from Chhangte and Mirabaje in the first game but two matches after that Coach Portugal rotated his squad to some extent. It is early in the season but finding a core group of performing players is a must and rotate only a couple along the way. Last performance against NorthEast United saw the team become active only after conceding two goals. If it a problem of tactics gone wrong or simply being under prepared is tough to tell. But this game must surely see a Dynamos side that gets going from the very beginning being proactive rather than reactive.

Jamshedpur FC have managed just 12 shots on target in over 270 minutes of football. The best of which came in the game against Kerala Blasters where Paul Rachubka stood like a wall. Coppell may have to start looking at looking at changing a formation and the right players in that formation to string together attacks that deliver goals.

So far Coppell has been unable to find the goal-scoring set. Surely this is looking like the start he had last season when he was in charge of Kerala Blasters. But no one will forget the way he brought back the team to deliver great performances and reach the finals of last season’s ISL.
