Thank You & Goodbye: Players who should get the axe from franchises before IPL 2018

IPL retention and auction is all about chaos and confusion. By now it should have been clear on how the player retention policy would work going ahead into the 10th edition of the league. However, as we have seen already, some franchises are unhappy with the rules, owing to which the BCCI and the IPL governing council might need to further discuss on the issue.

At the moment, what we do know is that barring Mumbai, Bangalore and to some extent Kolkata, a majority of the teams are not keen on retaining the players. There is a strong call for all the players to go back into the pool.

There is also no clarity on how many foreign players are allowed to stay back with their respective franchises. But perhaps, the biggest issue revolves around Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

These two former champions will be back for the 10th edition of the IPL and it will be interesting to see how they approach the auction at the beginning of 2018.

But be that as it may, here we take a look at those players who should be given the axe from their respective franchises. Players who the franchises have given enough chances in the past, but have failed to deliver.
