Hong Kong SS: Sindhu sails into the finals; will face top seed Tai Tzu Ying

PV SINDHU continued her winning form at the Hong Kong Super Series as she defeated sixth seed Intanon in straight games 21-17, 21-17.

Though a straight game victory, the Thai shuttler kept Sindhu on her toes and tested her nerves. Sindhu shone bright by overcoming the pressure and tension taking the match in her favour.

The first game saw dominance from Sindhu, but the second saw neck-to-neck battle between the two. It was seen that the second seed Indian desperately needed this win after some poor performances in the past few tournaments.

And with all the determination and drive, post interval of the second game saw Sindhu running away with a series of points and maintaining a lead not allowing the Thai to get back. Towards the end, with some errors from Intanon saw Sindhu cruise to the finals.

Awaiting Sindhu in the finals is top seed Tai Tzu Ying. And this will be a repeat of 2016's final between the two, where the top seed took the title. The head-to-head is in favour of Tai 7-3.
