UFC’S FIRST INDIAN-BORN fighter, Bharat Khandare suffered a defeat at UFC Shanghai against Yadong Song via submission in the first round.
The first had a quick start as expected with Yadong piling the pressure on Bharat. The fight changed when Yadong landed a huge overhand right. The Chinese fighter soon managed to get a choke in on Bharat and the Indian was forced to tap at 4:16 of the first round.
Bharat had taken the fight on short notice of two weeks and even had an opponent change one week prior to the event. He also noted that he has a multi-fight deal with the UFC and could fight in the UFC again in the near future.
