VIRAT KOHLI is arguably the biggest sporting icon in India today. In fact, he is also seen and ardently followed as a trendsetter by the young brigade. The Indian cricket team captain believes in leading by example and is a perfect epitome of the old adage--'Preach only what you practice.'

Given his exploits and mind-boggling feats in international cricket, he is also billed by many as the best batsman in the world. But be that as it may, his fearless approach to life, discipline, self-confidence and insatiable desire to get better with every passing day has made him the hottest property in the country today.

Be it big brands, banners, media or celebrity gathering, he is making his presence felt on almost every platform. Today, he is not only the most followed cricketer on social media but is also head and shoulders above any other athlete in India. With over 20 million followers on Twitter, the Delhi-lad is not far behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Talking about social media and his followers, there are several handles which have an innumerable fan following. However, there is one account that stands out from the rest.

Currently, ViratGang is the biggest Fan Club of Virat Kohli, followed by Virat Kohli himself. Into their sixth year, ViratGang has half a million followers on Twitter. ViratGang was founded by Dileep KM and Prathamesh Avachare in 2012. The whole motive behind the idea was to unite Virat's fans all over the world by providing related content at frequent intervals.

Having followed the Indian skipper right from his under-19 days, Dileep and his team have managed to successfully establish a wonderful connect between Virat and his fans. Moreover, they have also partnered with his teams and brands collaborations for the benefit of the society. In fact, they have planted more than 50 trees in the country as a part of RCB's Go Green initiative.

Going ahead, ViratGang also plans to set up a fan store that will feature interesting merchandise. However, the proceeds will only be used for charity purpose.

Back in the day, fans in India struggled to reach out to their favourite stars. That said, in the age of the internet and the ever-growing fanfare & adulation, initiatives like ViratGang will be a useful tool to connect to the various sporting icons in the country. So if you are a Virat fan and not connected to ViratGang you are missing out on lot of latest happenings. Be in the gang, ViratGang.
