ISL 2017 TEAM TRACKER: Bengaluru FC head into the new league as the favourites

ALL EYES are on this particular team among other ISL franchises and they are also considered to be the favourites to lift the trophy this season.

Bengaluru FC who chose to be in this season of ISL, have an already established identity with their list of accolades in the history of Indian football. But it's a new season with new a team.

And because of the ISL draft system,  they had to let go most of their players and form an entirely new team. But they kept their charismatic leader Sunil Chhetri along with Udanta Singh who has some immense pace in him. They later signed the national team's first choice keeper,  Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.

Now this current BFC side has played more games ahead of their ISL as compared to other teams, as they were part of the AFC Cup campaign. Playing at the highest level competition in Asia has boosted Roca and his boys.

The team knows what's it like to win trophies and give their best performance. They won the I-League in their debut season and the same will be expected out of them in ISL too. Apart from the AFC Cup campaign, they've had ups and downs in their pre-season too. Spending time together as a team in Spain, playing three matches of which all ended in defeat.

Post their AFC Cup campaign they then played few games against I-League teams like East Bengal, Gokulam FC, Chennai City and they had some good results in their favour.

Their foreign signings have put up some great performances in the pre-season and more will be expected from them in ISL. The likes of Miku, Dimas, Erik and the familiar faces like Juanan and John Johnson know the team and the conditions well to put their best performance.

Their other Indian players in the squad too look promising but may fall short in terms of experience. They strike a good balance in Rahul Bheke, Harmonjot Khabra, Lenny Rodrigues, Nishu Kumar, Boithang will be expected to step up their game.

Coach Albert Roca too has had a good amount of time to know his players and to get his homework done. If everyone is more eagerly looking forward to this season of ISL it is especially because of this particular team.

The team as whole,  strikes a great balance between the young and senior players but the attention will be more on the big names in the team.
