TWO-TIME IPL CHAMPIONS Chennai Super Kings is all set to return to the cash-rich tournament in 2018.
Ahead of the 11th season, the Chennai franchise finds itself in a tight spot as the IPL Governing Council is expected to announce a retention policy this month. There is an ongoing speculation that each team will be allowed to retain two Indians and an overseas player.
Sources have reported that CSK aims to retain MS Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin and Faf du Plessis. Following the reports, several fans have voiced their displeasure on social media, for not considering Suresh Raina. Much to the fans’ surprise, the franchise was compelled to issue a clarification.
Prior to CSK's suspension two years ago, Dhoni and Raina were among the few players to have represented the same franchise through the eight seasons.
