IMMAF World Championship Day 3 – Indian MMA team’s campaign ends
THE INDIAN MMA TEAM’s run at the IMMAF World Championships in Bahrain came to an end on the third day of the tournament.
Three fighters were in action on the day with Nishigandha Rao being the first. Nishigandha, who became the first Indian Female fighter to win at the World Championships yesterday, suffered a TKO loss to Anette Osterberg from Finland.
Divya Nagaraj also was stopped in her Quarter-final outing at Female’s Lightweight category. She went up against Kaycee Blake and was submitted in the first round.
Shiva Raj, who already had two wins in the championship had a mammoth task in his hands when he went up against former IMMAF medallist Yernaz Mussabek. Shiva had a strong showing before being submitted.
Despite the defeats, this was arguably one of the best campaigns for Team India at the IMMAF World Championship.
