China SSP: Saina, Sindhu & Prannoy enter round two

IT WAS an easy and comfortable opening round win for Saina Nehwal at the China Super Series Premier. She defeated American Beiwen Zhang in straight games 21-12, 21-13.

She will next face a tougher opponent in Japanese shuttler and 5th seed Akane Yamaguchi.

PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy too secured wins in the opening round to enter the next round of the tournament. 

Meanwhile, doubles pair of Satwiksairaj/Chirag Shetty and Ashwini Ponnappa/Sikki Reddy ended their campaign after losing to Cheng Liu/Nan Zhang 13-21, 13-21 and Ha Na Baek/Chae Yoo Jung         14-21, 15-21.

It wasn't a good day for men's singles shuttler Sourabh Verma too as he lost to Frenchman Brice Leverdez 14-21, 21-15, 11-21.

Manu Attri /Sumeeth Reddy and Satwik /Ashwini too ended their campaign after losing their respective matches.
