Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal are ready for Test cricket, says Gavaskar

TEAM INDIA claimed their eighth consecutive bilateral series win after beating New Zealand by six-runs in the third and the final T20 at Greenfield International Stadium. Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged as the Man of the Match as well as Man of the Series.

During the post-most presentation ceremony, skipper Virat Kohli heaped praise on the bowling unit for displaying consistent impressive performances. Following Kohli’s comments, former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar too has sung praise of the bowling department. The ‘Little Master’ also believes that it is the right time for Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal to be picked for overseas Tests. As reported by NDTV, Gavaskar said,

"Both these bowlers have been quite outstanding and I do believe that the way they are bowling they should also be considered for the red ball format which is the Test format. Particularly, I think both of them. Bumrah for example, you know in South Africa, Australia and England he will be quite a handful with the pace and with the accuracy that he has and Chahal as well, the way he has been tossing the ball up to the odd batsman, getting the ball to turn and grip, I think both of them are ready for red ball cricket.”
