The two teams will lock horns for the second time this season. The previous meeting ended in Gujarat’s favour as they beat Pardeep Narwal’s men 30-29. The Fortungiants managed to curtail Pardeep under a Super 10 as both Abozar and Jaideep struck High 5s.

The Gujarat-side has reached the final stage by topping the Zone A points table and subsequently thrashing the Bengal Warriors 42-17 in the Qualifier 1 in Mumbai. They have been beaten just four times in the league, twice against Haryana Steelers, once against Jaipur Pink Panthers and Tamil Thalaivas.

Unlike Patna Pirates, the Gujarat franchise has shown no over-reliance on a particular player. They have been an all-round side throughout the season. 

Pirates, who are two-time Pro Kabaddi champions, have a chance of making it three in a row tonight. They finished second in the Zone B points table. However, they displayed great conviction by beating Haryana Steelers 69-30 in Eliminator 2 and beating Puneri Paltan 32-42 in Eliminator 3. They eventually beat Bengal Warriors 44-47 in Qualifier 2 after failing to beat them in the league stage.

The Pirates will be hoping for a steady defensive show and another Pardeep tornado with Monu Goyat’s assistance.
