French SS: Satwik/Chirag enter QF but yet another tough outing for the young duo

IT WAS a good day for young men's doubles duo of Satwiksai Raj/Chirag Shetty as they entered the quarter-finals of French Super Series beating higher ranked pair & 6th seeds Mads Conrad-Petersen/Mads Pieler Kolding.

The young Indian duo defeated the heavyweight opponents in a hard-fought three game match 22-20, 12-21, 21-19. In the second game, though they fell short it was great fight shown by the young pair. They must now have the confidence boosted but also cautious as yet another tough opponents await them in the quarters.

They will be up against second seeds Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen.

Meanwhile, it was a good day for PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy too.

Sindhu trumped Sayaka Takahashi 21-14, 21-13. The second seed will now face Chinese Chen Yufei against who she lost in the opening round of Denmark SSP. This time around, she will look to avenge her defeat.

Denmark SSP winner Srikanth looking to add another SS title to his name defeated Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-19, 21-17 and will face 4th seed Shi Yuqi.

Prannoy displayed a dominating performance to beat Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus 21-11, 21-12. He will next play Jeon Hyeok Jin in the quarters.
