The fight, which took place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Kohima, Nagaland, was touted as one of the best ones that happened on the night.

Months after this victory, Suyash stepped into the YFC cage on October 15th for his first title defense. Staring at him was Zen Fitness studio’s Rohit Nair, who was eager to make a statement.

Despite the tough competition, the Mumbai-based Suyash kept the title around his waist. Currently training under Sanjivan Padwal at the Fit and Fight Club in Mumbai, Suyash recalled his training camp in an exclusive interview with TFG MMA.

Suyash Jadhav: We were doing our training camp from last two months to be prepared for YFC championship. 9 more fighters supposed to compete on the same fight card out of which Kishan Gupta was fighting for strawweight belt.

While there is an immense sense of pressure that comes along when defending a championship, Suyash tagged it as a great feeling and sees such occasions as opportunities to uphold the pride of his team and coaches.

Suyash Jadhav: It's a great feeling defending the title as the first thing comes to my mind is ‘I AM THE CHAMPION’ which is great to be felt personally. Besides that, it's a kind of responsibility also to keep that respect and pride of my team and coach so all over its great to defend the title.

When asked about scouting his opponents, the young fighter claimed that they prepare for everything that comes their way.

Suyash Jadhav: In fact, we didn't even try to scout my opponent as I believe in my coach and training camp. We prepare for everything coming in my way to defend. We as a team just try to give our best during training so the fight will be easy.

The win against Rohit is indeed a reason to celebrate for Suyash, but this is only the start for him. There are plenty of fights to look forward to and he has a message for his fans and opponents regarding those.

Suyash Jadhav: My fans can expect the great fight performance as usual and the opponent has to save his head as I am going to take that off for sure [Laughs].
