This week in Impact History: Bound for Glory goes Florida

On October 10, 2010, IMPACT Wrestling presented its’ biggest Pay-Per-View of the year, Bound for Glory, LIVE from Daytona Beach, Florida!

The 2010 edition of Bound for Glory was an eventful one

The date (10/10/10) was very fitting for the PPV that was executed from the Ocean Center, as it was full of matches that would be rated 10 out of 10, even by the most critical of fans. There were several Championships on-the-line at BFG in 2010, such as the World Tag Team, Knockouts, X-Division and World Heavyweight Championships.

The Motor City Machine Guns, consisting of Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin, defeated Max and Jeremy Buck, competing as the team Generation Me. Motor City Machine Guns were the defending Champions at the beginning of the match, therefore they were able to extend their reign as Champions. This would be the only time they held the World Tag Team Championships.

More five-star matches Championship matches for on display that night, as the X-Division Championship, as well as the Knockouts Championship were up for grabs. Tara was able to defeat Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne in a Four Corners match for the Knockouts Championship. The X-Division Championship didn’t change owners that night, as Jay Lethal was able to retain it against Douglas Williams by a small margin.

However, the World Heavyweight Championship was the biggest draw of the night. Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, and Mr. Anderson competed in the Three-Way Dance to win the vacant title spot. Hardy would go on to win the Championship and hold the title for three times over the span of his career with IMPACT Wrestling.
