This week in Impact History: IMPACT brings Bound For Glory from Charlotte

As we are gearing up for Bound For Glory in Ottawa, Ontario Canada on Sunday, November 5, 2017, it is exciting to take a look back on the storied history of the biggest yearly Pay-Per-View that IMPACT Wrestling has to offer. On October 4, 2015, IMPACT Wrestling presented Bound For Glory LIVE from Charlotte, North Carolina!

The Knockouts title match was one of the main highlights of the event

Just like the event coming up in November, the match card was stacked with incredible competitions between the biggest stars in the company, many of which will be featured this year. Huge stars including current Global Champion, Eli Drake, Eddie Edwards, Trevor Lee, Gail Kim and more were fighting for gold in their respective divisions.

The Wolves, consisting of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards defeated Brian Myers and current X-Division Champion, Trevor Lee to continue their reign of the World Tag Team Champions.

Eli Drake was unsuccessful during his Bound for Gold Gauntlet Battle Royal against Mr. Anderson, Abyss, Aiden O’Shea, Al Snow, Chris Melendez, D’Angelo Dinero, Eli Drake, Jessie Godderz, Mahabali Shera, Robbie E and Tommy Dreamer. The point of the match was to obtain a future Heavyweight Championship Match. Although he was unable to get the shot during 2013’s Bound For Glory, years later he would fulfil his ultimate goal, as the leader of IMPACT Wrestling.

It was a blockbuster match for Gail Kim, as she had to defeat Awesome Kong if she wanted to retain her Knockouts Championship. She was looking to expand one of her legendary six reigns as the Queen of the Knockouts. Although the size and strength were in Kong’s favor, Gail was able to defeat her competitor to solidify her reputation as one of the best Knockouts in the history of the division.

Bound For Glory 2015 was full of amazing match and unexpected surprises, however, this year’s is set to be even bigger. Don’t miss out on Bound For Glory 2017!
