HISTORY: 5 Indian men's singles shuttlers in top 20; take a look at their best moments from this year

INDIAN MEN'S SINGLES shuttlers have always been questioned about their consistency at top level tournaments and also often compared to the women's singles shuttlers' (only 2 at top level) performance and winning records.

Earlier this year TFG caught up with senior MS shuttler, Parupalli Kashyap. He opened up and elaborated in detail that how it's not fair and utterly nonsensical to draw comparisons between the two categories.

But all of the allegations and comparisons can now definitely put to rest as the Indian MS shuttlers have spoken up with their brilliant performances this year. Their best moments have now reached a milestone in the history of MS in Indian badminton.

According to the newly released BWF rankings (today, 28th September 2017), there are five MS from India in the top 20. This has never happened in the past as right now India has great depth in the MS category.

Srikanth Kidambi is the highest ranked among the Indians, at No. 8; followed by HS Prannoy who jumped 4 spots up to No. 15; Sai Praneeth remains at No. 17; Sameer Verma jumps two spots to No. 19 and finally Ajay Jayaram is at No. 20.
