Sports Ministry recommends shuttler Sindhu for Padma Bhushan

PV SINDHU at a young age of 22 has bagged most of the coveted titles including Olympic Silver, three medals (2 Bronze, 1 Silver) at World Championships etc. She has had a great time on court since the Rio Olympics in 2016.

All these achievements has pushed the sports ministry to recommend the young shuttler for the country's third highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan.

"Yes, we have recommended Sindhu for Padma Bhushan," a Sports Ministry official told PTI.

Her list of achievements also includes three Super Series titles, the recent one coming in Korea.

In March 2015, she was awarded the Padma Shri, fourth highest civilian honour.
