Kashyap suffers narrow defeat as Sindhu & Sameer progress to quarters of Korea Open

WHILE PV SINDHU and Sameer Verman progressed to the quarter finals with straight wins, Parupalli Kashyap was knocked out of the USD 600,000 Korea Super Series following a narrow defeat in the second round.

Sindhu beat Thailand's Nitchaon Jindapol 22-20 21-17 to set up a clash with Japan's Minatsu Mitani. Meanwhile, Hong Kong Super Series finalist and Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold winner, Sameer defeated Hong Kong's Wong Wing Ki Vincent 21-19 21-13 in just 41 minutes. He is set to face a local hot favourite in Son Wan Ho.

The contest between Son Han and Kashyap lasted for an hour and 16 minutes before the former took home a 21-16, 17-21, 21-16 victory to the last-eight stage.
