Germanpreet Singh

Germanpreet Singh

A graduate from the Tata Football Academy, Germanpreet Singh got the first taste of top flight football way back in 2015 when he was with Dempo.

His exploits in the Tata Football Academy had already got the Gurdaspur lad into the India U-19 side. He also got into the India U-23 team that went to the 2014 Asian Games. And once he got his senior football debut for Dempo, he soon played his first match for India U-23 in the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers.

In the next couple of years, Germanpreet went onto play regularly for Dempo and India U-23. In 2017, he was signed by Minerva Punjab, who had been included in I-League by direct corporate entry. It was here that Germanpreet came into his own, becoming a regular starter and a fan favourite at his local club. This was followed by a spectacular show for India U-23 this summer, after which Constantine picked him up for the senior national team. Soon, he made his debut for the Blue Tigers.

Knowing the promise he holds, Chennaiyin FC picked Germanpreet in the Draft. Being a 21 year old with considerable top division experience and even some international matches under his belt, he has the potential to become a long term part of the Chennaiyin FC midfield if the franchise chooses to bind him with a long term deal.
