Overview

The two teams will meet for the first time this season. The Gujarat Fortunegiants, who are the top of the Zone A points table, have suffered two consecutive defeats ahead of this game. They lost 25-31 against a Manjeet Chhillar-less Jaipur Pink Panthers.

Unbeaten in the last five matches, the UP Yoddha have won two, drawn two and have had one match abandoned due to bad weather. In 12 matches, the Yoddhas have won just four. 

Team Combination

The Gujarat franchise is known to not experiment much with its playing seven. However, they started with Pawan Sehrawat instead of Rahul Gulia in their previous fixture. The latter came on as a sub in the second half but did not pick any points. The Sukesh Hedge-led side could drop the duo and start with Mahendra Rajput, who has been bagging points in the second half of the past few games.

The UP Yoddha started with Surender Singh instead of Santosh B.S in their last game. The Nitin Tomar-led side is expected to play the same lineup against Gujarat. Mahesh Goud is likely to come on as a substitute if any of the raiders fail to deliver.
